Why Horses?

'Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy or pride without vanity? Here where grace is laced with muscle and strength by gentleness confined.

He serves without servility, he has fought without enmity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent , there is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.

Our past has been borne on his back. All our history is his industry, we are his heirs, he our inheritance.

The Horse!' Ronald Duncan's 'Ode to the Horse'

Through a progression of activities and exercises where the human ‘team’ works with the horse to achieve their goals, participants quickly discover how their basic motivations and body language impact those around them – and can affect their performance. There is plenty of opportunity to discuss how to take the learning back into the workplace, school or home.

Each workshop is designed to ensure that the participants are challenged to work on positive solution-based outcomes and to accept responsibility for any changes which may be required. Only by DOING can the learning experience be reinforced, retained and applied in the process of change and managing change.

Feedback is immediate and honest and the learning process is effective and powerful. Horses bring a depth of learning to people which no other experiential learning can do.

Our horses are all individual characters who bring a huge variety to the workshops.
